SALON RE-OPENING 12th APRIL
We’ve missed you all and can’t wait till you can join us in the salon once again and I’m sure you’re all just as eager to see us!
This last lockdown has been very hard for many businesses but especially those that have been forced to remain closed. Some may say the hair and beauty industry has been treated unfairly during this last year and whilst we would agree to an extent we do also appreciate that operating as we do, in very close contact, was always going to mean tougher restrictions.
We will follow the government’s close contact service guidance to ensure the well-being of our staff and customers. When we reopen tomorrow we will still have to use all of the Personal Protective Equipment and extra cleaning measures that we used the last time we were open. We will have to sanitise everything between every client’s appointments and we’re restricted on how many clients can be in the salon at one time, so no waiting or being accompanied to your appointment please. We will need a new set of disposable gloves and apron for every client. If we need to answer the phone we’ll need a new mask and gloves!
You can imagine that this added expense could be crippling to a small business which has already been closed for more months of the last year than they’ve been open and now has to cover this cost. So we’ve placed a notice on the desk in the salon letting our clients know that they can help towards this cost if they choose; they simply need to ask us to add it to their bill when paying. This small act could really help us stay on our feet. Of course, we also have the worry of further restrictions being imposed in the future and how we will manage to stay afloat if this happens but let’s all hope this was our last lockdown as a nation!
Whilst we’ve been closed it would have been easy to use that time to relax, a well-deserved break you might say, but we’ve been super busy. You’ll notice a few changes when you head over to Metheringham to see us in the salon. We’ve installed a gorgeous flower wall so you can get the perfect selfie as soon as your locks are looking their best. We’ve also moved a few things and you’ll notice that we’ve put a real focus on our retail products and there’s a reason for this…
The website allows us to showcase the styles and colours we’ve achieved and hopefully you’ll be able to use it as inspiration before you visit us for your appointment. This is just a fraction of the work we have done, Dawn had literally thousands of hair photos on her phone so it was very hard to choose but it does mean there will be plenty more to show in the future.
We’ve always sold hair products in the salon so your hair can be the best it possibly can even between salon visits. In fact, we’re the only salon in the east midlands that stocks the full range of GOLDWELL Kerasilk products.
This past year has taught us that if we do need to close we should have a way to let you still buy your favourite products. So we now have a brand new webshop where you can buy Kerasilk hair products, Vitaplex haircare and other GOLDWELL ranges online and either arrange to collect from us during salon opening hours (free of charge) or we will deliver to you using Royal Mail Signed For 1st Class at a fixed rate of £5 and orders that go above £50 qualify for FREE Delivery.
